We are now looking for a

Software Development Engineer C++ (m/f/d)

We are now looking for a Software Development Engineer with strong skills in C++ to join the R&D team at RT Navigation in Hamburg . Our teams work on ECDIS, Radar, and Planning software for the maritime industry, specifically focusing on desktop applications . We support a hybrid work model.

What you will be doing?

Your work includes the development of the Navigation software, which is used both onboard the vessels and as a part of the navigation training center. You will satisfy upcoming certification requirements and adopt the software to the new customer’s needs.

As a Software Development Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain maritime navigation software using C++
• Work with a significant amount of legacy code
• Creating unit tests
• Improving the software components design
• Ensure high code quality, participate in the Code Review
• Participate in the Agile activities

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

• Great skills in improving products with a lot of legacy code
• Excellent knowledge of the C++ programming language
• Strong analytical thinking skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues
• Technical and communication English
• Good communication skills

Will be a plus:

• Experience with maritime navigation will be an advantage
• Knowledge of Qt
• Experience with Agile methodologies, particularly SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)
• Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices
• Knowledge of OpenGL
