Backend Engineering Teamead - Kotlin, Cloud & AI
Looking for a Team Lead role where you do more than distribute tickets and run meetings?

You’ll lead a product-focused backend team, work with your engineers on key architectural decisions, and remain close to the technology yourself. You’ll have the opportunity to set engineering standards, influence technical direction, and introduce AI-powered engineering practices where they create genuine value. What you’ll be doing
- Technical leadership with real influence: Lead and develop a product-focused backend engineering team and create an environment where engineers can take ownership and do their best work.
- Shape the architecture: Work with your team to design and evolve the architecture of core B2B platform services.
- Stay hands-on: Continue writing code and work alongside your team to solve complex technical challenges.
- End-to-end ownership: Following a “you build it, you run it” approach, your team owns its microservices from development through to production.
- Build for scale: Develop secure, maintainable and highly scalable solutions that reliably serve millions of users.
- Collaborate across teams: Align APIs, interfaces and architectural decisions with other engineering teams while working closely with Product Management and key stakeholders.
- Drive AI adoption in engineering: Introduce AI-assisted development and new engineering approaches to the team in a pragmatic way, with a focus on tangible value.
- Experience leading and developing engineering teams
- An empowering leadership style based on trust and ownership rather than micromanagement
- Strong experience with Kotlin and Spring Boot
- Experience with MongoDB and/or PostgreSQL
- Solid experience with microservices, Kubernetes and production systems
- Experience with REST APIs and event-driven architectures, ideally Kafka
- A genuine interest in shaping technical decisions while developing and supporting the people around you
- An interest in AI-assisted software development; experience with agentic AI practices is a plus
- 30 days of annual leave plus unlimited additional time off
