Pricing & Procurement Specialist Ocean Freight (m/w/d)

Job Description

Responsibilities

Procurement

• Act as the country contact for daily ocean freight pricing and procurement activities
• Manage relationships with local carriers, suppliers, and logistics partners to secure competitive end-to-end solutions
• Maintain and provide transparency on buying conditions for internal stakeholders
• Collaborate closely with operations and sales teams to support business needs
• Advise on rate structures, carrier selection, and capacity challenges
• Monitor local market trends, regulations, and conditions to support informed procurement decisions
  Pricing
• Support local, regional, and global tendering processes
• Provide sales teams with competitive buying rates and selling recommendations, including mainfreight and pre-/on-carriage options
• Manage rate requests from the DP World overseas and agent networks to grow non-controlled business
• Implement follow-up processes and KPIs to measure pricing success rates
• Support monthly and quarterly customer rate updates for the sales organization

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the freight forwarding industry, with a strong focus on pricing and procurement
• Proven experience in procurement and carrier management within the local ocean freight and logistics market
• Demonstrated success in negotiating competitive agreements and managing country-level tenders
• Experience working in multi-stakeholder environments, including close collaboration with procurement teams
• Strong understanding of local market conditions, regulations, and logistics infrastructure
