Your mission

As a Senior Fullstack Engineer , you work on a technically demanding part of our platform where reliability, security, and smooth user experiences go hand in hand. In doing so, you help create infrastructure that schools and educational institutions across Europe can depend on every day.

What you’ll do

• You design, build, and evolve both product-facing applications and the underlying domain services that power secure, scalable access to our platform
• Design and integrate reliable REST APIs and contribute to scalable, secure system architecture
• Work on production systems with high requirements for availability, performance, and reliability
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders to solve complex technical challenges in a pragmatic way
• Take ownership of technical decisions, drive improvements, and contribute to a strong engineering culture through collaboration and clear communication

What you’ll bring

• Strong professional experience in backend or fullstack development, including solid hands-on experience with object-oriented programming and ideally PHP
• Experience with PHP-based frameworks such as Symfony or Laravel, as well as REST APIs and relational databases like PostgreSQL, MariaDB, or MySQL
• Familiarity with modern engineering environments and concepts such as Docker, Kubernetes, and event-driven architectures
• Confidence working across functions, taking ownership, and communicating proactively in an international English-speaking environment
• Experience with frontend technologies such as JavaScript or TypeScript is a plus in this fullstack role

Where you’ll be

This role is based in Hamburg, Berlin, or Koblenz and works in a hybrid setup. You combine flexible remote work with regular onsite presence at one of our hubs, as personal exchange is an important part of how we collaborate, learn, and grow together. Being on site supports close cross-functional collaboration, strong alignment across the group, and a real connection to our culture.
