Senior Manager, Commercial Finance (m/f/d) - Hamburg

The Senior Manager, Commercial Finance is part of the eight-person Northern Europe Finance team and is responsible for a sub-team of three Commercial Finance Specialists.

The purpose of the function is to work shoulder-to-shoulder with cluster stakeholders to drive and impact cluster business performance.

Driving Decisions

• Provide financial and commercial support to drive performance and influence delivery of the commercial result
• Provide actionable insight to key forums based on risk, opportunity and sensitivity c
• Support Market Finance teams with performance improvement interventions
• Set financial and operational KPIs/drivers
• Approve business case

Projects and Continuous Improvement

• Be part of the core teams of strategic projects within Cluster/Market (e. g. investments, new category/channel/product creation and launch), hereunder provide analysis
• Provide ongoing coaching to strengthen the Market Finance team’s performance

The role requires a combination of strong business acumen, commercial finance, business partnering and communication skills, and the ability to guide strategic projects within the market, e.g. new category/channel/product creation and launch. The strong understanding of business acumen is what drives increased business performance in the cluster and markets, making the role the preferred business partner for the market management teams.

• Proven working experience (at least 5 years) in commercial finance/finance business partnering, analysis and financial reporting and/or finance consultancy
• Ideally experience from retail, fashion or FMCG industry
• Enjoy working with senior stakeholders/executive management and the challenges this presents
• Be able to communicate, collaborate, challenge and counsel relevant stakeholders on financial decisions, whilst at the same time enjoying “hands-on working” in the engine room and being not afraid of “getting your hands dirty”
• Passion for and patience with large data sets and exceptional analytical skills, with strong understanding of data across multiple sources and ability to combine numbers with strategy and financial insight
• Build broad-based business relationships across the organization; skillfully influences peers and colleagues to promote and sell ideas; proactively surfaces and resolves conflict with minimal noise
• “One Global Team” oriented and high energy and willingness to drive a global agenda
• Organization and time management skills; prioritizing (based on impact), planning work activities efficiently to meet deadlines and high-level goals
• Result driven with a pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset
• Fluent in English – verbally and written
