Job Description

This is a fixed-term position covering parental leave (approximately 13 months). 

• Holistic strategic direction and continuous development of corporate communications in alignment with company objectives
• Overall responsibility for Corporate, Consumer, and Internal Communications
• Strategic advisory and positioning of the Management Board and Senior Leadership Team, including the development of core corporate narratives
• Development and management of integrated communication strategies across all relevant channels and stakeholders
• Close, aligned collaboration with Zalando’s communications department
• Overall responsibility for steering and further developing press and media relations, as well as building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships
• Responsibility for communication in critical situations, including the management of company-wide crisis communications
• Overall responsibility for the PR-driven execution of ABOUT YOU events (e.g. fashion shows), including media relations and stakeholder management
• Steering and quality assurance of key communication content and formats (e.g. communication strategies, press materials, internal formats, executive communications)

Qualifications

• Several years of comprehensive experience in corporate communications with responsibility for Corporate, Consumer, and Internal Communications
• Proven experience in strategic advisory and positioning of top management, particularly at C-level
• Strong track record in managing complex communication initiatives as well as leading press and media relations, including in the context of high-reach and international events
• Confident handling of demanding internal and external stakeholders, with extensive experience working in matrix organizations
• Experience working directly with a Management Board or comparable senior leadership bodies
• Strong entrepreneurial mindset with a keen sense for relevant topics, narratives, and media dynamics
• High conceptual strength combined with a clear execution focus and decisiveness
• Strong presence, assertiveness, and the ability to provide guidance in critical situations
• Business-fluency in German and English
