Backend Engineer

As part of our Content Creators Team , you’ll work on the heart of how companies create, manage, and update their internal content. Our mission: Make content creation and maintenance effortless — aiming for true zero-touch maintenance.
Your backend work will directly impact how intuitive, scalable, and reliable this experience is for thousands of users who rely on Haiilo every day.

Who we're looking for

• 3+ years backend engineering experience with strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot
• Very good English proficiency for collaboration in an international environment
• Experience with Docker and cloud architectures (GCP preferred, but not required)
• Solid understanding of SQL and/or MongoDB
• Ability to design scalable backend systems , evaluate architectural trade-offs, and make confident technical decisions
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD workflows , automated testing, and building maintainable, high-quality services

What you’ll do

• Build and evolve the backend that powers content creation, editing, scheduling, and automation
• Contribute to the team’s mission of zero-touch content maintenance , designing systems that update and operate themselves
• Develop high-quality microservices using Java + Spring Boot and ensure reliability, maintainability, and observability
• Improve and maintain database models (SQL / MongoDB) and optimize performance across content-related services
• Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to deliver impactful features with clear customer value
• Help evolve our service architecture and drive long-term technical improvements in a cloud-native environment

👩🏼‍💻Flexibility & Teamwork: We love our hybrid setup and meet to work on-site at least 1 day/week, with Wednesdays as the designated in-office day. While Wednesday is the minimum, we recommend spending 2 (or more) days in the office each week.
