Head of Logistics (m/f/d)

We are seeking a driven Head of Logistics (m/f/d) to join Buying Labs at our new, state-of-the-art warehouse in Hamburg-Billbrook as well as our dynamic company headquarters in Hamburg - Neustadt. In this key role, you will lead our logistics, transportation, and warehouse operations from shaping the long-term strategy to rolling up your sleeves when it matters most.

Your Mission

• Lead and continuously develop our global logistics strategy, covering transport, warehousing, and customs operations
• Design and optimize international transportation networks across all channels – sea, air, rail, and road
• Build and manage strategic partnerships with freight forwarders, carriers, customs agents, and 3PL providers
• Make key build-or-buy decisions for logistics infrastructure (own warehouses vs. external solutions)
• Ensure full compliance with international customs and trade regulations
• Drive logistics automation and digitalization initiatives across all stages of the supply chain
• Lead and grow a high-performing logistics team, balancing operational excellence and strategic planning
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams – including Procurement, Sales, Tech, and Finance – to ensure seamless supply chain execution
• Track and analyze key logistics KPIs, manage budgets, and constantly optimize cost, quality, and lead times

Your Profile

• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in international logistics – ideally in a fast-paced trading or logistics environment (Fashion, Beauty, or FMCG a plus)
• In-depth knowledge of global transportation and 3PL/4PL structures
• Thorough knowledge of customs clearance procedures and international trade regulations
• Proven success in building and managing international logistics networks
• Strong leadership experience and the ability to build and empower teams
• Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach and a strong sense of ownership
• Fluent in English; German is a plus
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
