Are you a hands-on technical leader who thrives in startup-like environments and enjoys solving complex system design challenges? At Asset Ocean , we're building a self-service data platform that enables renewable energy producers to make better, faster, and data-driven decisions.

We're looking for an Engineering & Infrastructure Lead to take full ownership of our technical foundation, lead our engineering practices, and ensure a scalable, secure, and high-performance application stack.

Asset Ocean is a subsidiary of Encavis, one of the leading independent producers of electricity from renewable energy sources. We provide a central solution for the renewable energy sector to manage data from multiple solar and wind farms. Our mission is to improve data management and accelerate decision-making by providing high-quality data access and actionable business insights - helping Encavis scale its decentralized generation portfolio through intelligent data use.

Your sunny outlook:

• Mentor and lead a small, high-impact engineering team , fostering a culture of ownership and excellence
• Own the technical implementation of our platform – from application architecture to infrastructure and deployment
• Design and lead development of the Dock application (Next.js frontend, backend APIs, and data integration layers)
• Manage and optimize our Azure-based cloud infrastructure for performance and cost
• Drive DevOps and CI/CD practices for robust and automated software delivery
• Guide software architecture decisions , ensuring maintainability, performance, and security
• Oversee data infrastructure and orchestration , enabling smooth ETL flows and scalable storage
• Ensure observability , system reliability, and disaster recovery readiness

Must-Have

• Leadership - Strong experience managing cross-domain teams
• Azure Cloud – proven experience managing scalable, secure infrastructure
• System Design & Architecture – strong track record designing robust application and platform architectures
• DevOps & CI/CD – hands-on experience with modern DevOps pipelines and automation
• Docker – extensive usage in development and production environments
• Terraform – infrastructure-as-code best practices
• Monitoring / Observability – tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar
• Orchestration Platforms – deep experience with Prefect, Airflow, or similar tools
• API Development & Security Best Practices – especially for backend services and platform APIs
• Python & SQL – advanced proficiency for both scripting and data processing
• Snowflake – hands-on experience in a data-driven environment

Nice to Have

• Data Modeling Experience – especially in analytics or warehouse contexts
• PeerDB – familiarity with Postgres-to-Snowflake syncing or similar setups
• TypeScript – basic understanding or better for frontend/backend collaboration
