Project Interface Manager (f/m/d)
Req ID:517422
At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.
Could you be the full-time Project Interface Manager (f/m/d) in Hamburg or Berlin we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your project coordination and stakeholder management expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dynamic, collaborative, and solution-oriented teammates.
You'll play a key role in managing technical interfaces between signalling systems and external stakeholders. Day-to-day, you’ll act as the main technical point of contact for customers, coordinate closely with engineering and project teams, and ensure seamless collaboration across multiple interfacing partners such as track, rolling stock, power supply, and communication systems.
You’ll specifically take care of managing interface-related issues and ensuring alignment between all involved parties, but also support project execution by coordinating communication, tracking issues, and ensuring successful integration during installation and commissioning phases.
We’ll look for you to:
• Act as the main technical interface towards the customer for all interface-related topics on behalf of the Project Engineering Manager
• Support engineering teams by providing clarification and coordinating technical discussions with onshore stakeholders
• Manage and track interface issues with customers and internal project teams
• Coordinate and supervise all external interfaces with contractors (track, power supply, rolling stock, communication systems, etc.)
• Identify and define interface requirements between signalling and other systems
• Establish effective communication and collaboration with interfacing partners to resolve issues
• Organize and lead interface meetings and working groups, ensuring clear documentation (e.g., minutes, reports)
• Ensure customer alignment and approval of interface definitions
• Manage interface changes throughout the project lifecycle
• Support system commissioning by validating correct implementation of interface specifications
• Provide planning inputs for installation and commissioning activities
• Conduct site surveys when required to assess interface conditions and constraints
All about you
We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
• Degree in engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
• Experience in project engineering, interface management, or system integration
• Strong understanding of complex, multidisciplinary environments (ideally signalling or rail projects)
• Experience in stakeholder management and coordination across multiple contractors
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage technical discussions with customers and partners
• Structured and proactive approach to problem-solving and issue tracking
• Willingness to work on-site and perform site assessments when needed
• Fluency in English; German is an advantage
Things you’ll enjoy
Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:
• Experience a dynamic and meaningful work environment with a permanent role at a global leader in rail transportation
• Contribute to innovative and impactful projects shaping the future of sustainable transport
• Work with international, cross-functional teams and supportive colleagues
• Take ownership of your career and explore development opportunities across functions, projects, and countries
• Benefit from our strong investment in your growth through award-winning learning at Alstom University
• Work in modern offices in Hamburg or Berlin with excellent public transport connections
• Optimise your work-life balance with flexible working hours and hybrid working models
• Receive a competitive remuneration package including 30 days of vacation, company pension, and subsidised “Deutschlandticket”
• Thrive in an inclusive workplace with mentoring programmes, diversity & inclusion initiatives, and engaging employee activities
You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
