Sales Germany North, based in Hamburg and Husum, is an integral part of the Sales Central team within Vestas Northern and Central Europe (NCE)—the largest business unit of Vestas Wind Systems A/S, the global leader in wind turbine manufacturing.


The Sales Central team is composed of a diverse and skilled group of sales professionals, including Sales Managers and Commercial Engineers, who collaborate closely with stakeholders across various functional areas. The team oversees sales operations across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, ensuring alignment and excellence in execution.


As the German onshore wind market is poised for significant growth in the coming years, Sales Central is setting the course to prepare our organization, customers, and the broader market for this major transformation. To accomplish this, we are focused on:

  • Transforming the way we work in sales to increase market share
  • Reducing transaction costs to ensure efficiency and competitiveness
  • Maintaining project quality from the early sales phases to turbine operations

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the closing and surpassing of annual order intake targets by guiding and supporting colleagues throughout the sales cycle, including prospect identification, tendering, deal optimization, and contract negotiation and closure
  • Maintain close relationships with customers by building trust, understanding their business cases, and delivering tailored value propositions that meet their needs
  • Act as a central coordinator, facilitating communication and alignment between internal and external stakeholders to develop robust business cases
  • Monitor market trends, customer activities, and competitor strategies, and share relevant insights with sales managers and team members to enhance overall performance
  • Consistently contribute to the development and refinement of Vestas' commercial strategy to promote sustainable growth and market leadership

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
  • Extensive experience in Sales, Commercial Sales, or Business Development, within the renewable energy sector or other project-based industries
  • Skilled in negotiating complex technical contracts with a thorough understanding of contract terms and conditions
  • Skilled in identifying and engaging relevant business stakeholders to promote collaboration and positive outcomes
  • Fluency in both German and English is mandatory

  • Exhibits a goal-oriented mindset with the ability to sustain performance in volatile, variable conditions
  • Exhibits an engaging demeanor and good communication skills, promoting effective collaboration
  • Skilled at building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders to ensure alignment and productive collaboration
  • Possesses good financial understanding and analytical skills to assess and investigate business opportunities
  • Thrives under time-sensitive conditions and shows a willingness to stay motivated to reach milestones

The primary work location for this role is our office in Hamburg, Germany.


Up to 30 days of travel per year.
