Backend Developer - ERP

Your mission

We are seeking an experienced and motivated SAP S/4HANA Backend Developer to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable solutions on the SAP S/4HANA platform. You will leverage modern ABAP programming paradigms, HANA-native capabilities, and the latest development models to build high-performance applications that support our core business processes.

• Design & Development: Design, build, test, and deploy custom backend solutions using ABAP on HANA, including Object-Oriented ABAP, Core Data Services (CDS) views, and ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP).
• API & Service Creation: Develop and maintain OData services to support SAP Fiori applications and other integrations using the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) and other relevant frameworks.
• Enhancements & Customizations: Implement custom logic and extensions using BAdIs, user exits, and the enhancement framework to meet specific business requirements.
• Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize application performance by leveraging SAP HANA's in-memory capabilities and ensuring efficient data modeling.
• Collaboration & Support: Work closely with functional consultants, Fiori/UI5 developers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications. Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and debugging for complex backend issues.
• Code Quality: Conduct code reviews, adhere to development best practices, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.

Your profile

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in ABAP development, with demonstrated project experience on the SAP S/4HANA platform.
• Strong proficiency in Object-Oriented ABAP.
• Proven experience developing with Core Data Services (CDS) views and AMDPs.
• Experience in creating and extending OData services.
• Solid understanding of the SAP S/4HANA architecture and data model.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Hands-on experience with the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
• Knowledge of the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and its services.
• Familiarity with SAP Fiori/UI5 development concepts.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
• Functional knowledge in one or more SAP modules (e.g., FI, CO, SD, MM, EWM).
• Relevant SAP certifications are a plus.
